Black Engineer Week: Exploring Innovation at Stanford

The Bao group hosts college students participating in Black Engineer Week.

On Wednesday June 26th, the Bao Group hosted participants in Black Engineer Week as part of their day touring the university, themed "Exploring Innovations at Stanford". Black Engineer Week is an initiative by Prof. Folarin Erogbogbo of San Jose State University aimed at broadening the participation of African Americans in engineering.

A diverse range of research interests and academic journeys were shared by Hao, Kostas and Alam, followed by an interactive demonstration of hydrogel formation led by Yuran and Chuanzhen. The participants were then given a brief tour of the Soft & Hybrid Materials Facility and the Bao Group Labs within Shriram.

It was fantastic to see the participants' excitement for our multidisciplinary research, and we hope the experience was inspiring as well as informative!
